Heidi Montag’s New Job: Bikini Designer

We don’t really know what to say when we heard the news.  After her Heidiwood clothing line folded just a couple of months ago, Heidi Montag thinks she still can be a fashion designer.  To tell you the truth, we don’t really hate her Heidiwood label, it’s just that we’re not really sure whether she should come near designing fashion.  We think Heidi should just wear stuff and look fabulous, the same way we think about Lauren Conrad, her frenemy.

Heidi partnered with swimsuit designer Ashley Paige for a 60’s-inspired swimsuit line -to be named later- that will be shown next week.  Whoa, talk about express designs.  Catch the collaboration result on “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here” beginning June 1.  The six premier styles will also be immediately available on AshleyPaige.com.  If you happen to be in Miami by July, catch the rest of the colection in an I Dream of Jeanie-themend runway show during Miami Fashion Week.  Word is, Mrs. Pratt herself will walk the runway and show off her bikini bod… er, and the bikinis, of course.

Unlike her dead Heidiwood line, the upcoming bikini line is rumored to be recession-conscious and will be available in both high-end luxury line and budget line.  We weren’t really sure about her singing talent before but her tune is catchy and we ended up dancing the night away -more than just one time, so we hope this will be the case with her bikinis!

While we’re speaking on the bikini subject, here’s one we love from Marc Jacobs.  We can’t help it!

About Heidi Montag

Heidi Blair Pratt (née Montag; born September 15, 1986) is an American television personality, singer, fashion designer, and author. Born and raised in Crested Butte, Colorado, she befriended Lauren Conrad in 2005. In 2006, Montag came to prominence after being cast in the MTV reality television series The Hills, which chronicled the personal and professional lives of Conrad, Montag, and friends Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port. During its production, she briefly attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and was employed by event planning company Bolthouse Productions. As the series progressed, Montag began dating fellow cast member Spencer Pratt, which ultimately ended her friendship with Conrad. Their ensuing feud became the central focus of the series, and was carried through each subsequent season.
