Who loves Taylor Swift? We do.
The “Love Story” singer has teamed up with Jones Apparel Group’s L.E.I brand to be the face of its spring and fall ad campaign, and… to launch her own apparel line. Taylor Swift is gonna design a limited edition of colorful cotton sundresses -because sundresses are Taylor’s signature wear, duh-, and get this: they will be affordable.
Folks at L.E.I chose Taylor as their celebrity designer because she’s so famous, yet so grounded. We agree, especially after Taylor Swift said…
“It was very important for me to create cute, affordable dresses. Especially in these hard times, making expensive dresses just doesn’t make any sense. These are my favorite things to wear. When we were designing them, we hd so many ideas to work from, and it came down to creating dresses that I would wear. If I couldn’t see myself wearing them, I wasn’t interested in making them.”
Taylor is also proud of her budget-friendly collection. She said, “To have cute dresses under $20 is something I am really proud of”
That’s impressive for a 19 year-old, and that reminds us that we were once actually proud to find cheap but good stuff! She also said she plans to wear the dresses throughout the spring and summer as well as when she’s on tour. And she couldn’t be more excited to see her collection exclusively in Wal-Mart because apparently, Ms. Swift was an avid Wal-Mart shopper.
“I go to Wal-Mart all the time. The one in my hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee, is open 24 hours, so I go there a lot to buy DVDs and stuff like that.”
The L.E.I Sundresses by Taylor Swift will be available in your nearest Wal-Mart on February 1st, 2009.
