With a rock star for a father and a supermodel for a mother, it is no wonder that Georgia May Jagger has developed a career in the world of fashion. In case you are feeling a bit out of the loop here, Georgia May Jagger is the daughter of Jerry Hall, one of the original supermodels, and Mick Jagger, the lead vocalist of The Rolling Stones. In addition to her ongoing career as a model, it seems that the young Ms. Jagger is also stepping into a role as a denim designer.
In addition to modeling for Hudson Jeans in the past, Georgia is now the creative force behind a new line which will be called “Hudson by Georgia May Jagger.” In order to create this line, Georgia Jagger has been collaborating directly with the creative director and head designer of the company, Benjamin Taverniti. Based on recent reports and interviews, it looks like Ms. Jagger will be involved with this new line from drawing board to ad campaign. Not only has she submitted sketches and taken part in the design process, but she will also model the finished product.
Hudson by Georgia May Jagger will include five styles which will be sold in a number of washes. Each style follows the basic skinny leg silhouette, especially at the leg opening. They are also all mid rise jeans, which Georgia indicated in a press release, will be flattering for shorter women as well as women with curvier backsides. Reports also indicate that the fabrics used in these styles are all stretch denim and that they were exclusively developed for this line. Georgia has said that these fabrics are very wearable and comfortable.
